Terms and Conditions

These terms govern your use of AI Hiring Audit, operated by CortxAI Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom. By using the free audit you agree to them.

1. The service

AI Hiring Audit is a free, independent AI score assessment for recruitment. One audit takes one job description and up to 3 candidate CVs; sample documents are provided if you would rather try it without your own files. The result is shown in your browser and can be downloaded as a CSV file.

The assessment is produced by the Smart Sifty engine. We may change or withdraw the free audit at any time.

2. Eligibility

  • The service is for business use, not for personal use.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use it.
  • You must be authorised to upload each document you submit and to have the personal data in it processed for the assessment.
  • No account is required for the free audit.

3. Free use and fair use

The audit is free and no payment details are required. To keep it available to everyone, it is subject to fair-use limits: up to 3 audits in any 24-hour period per device or browser session, and up to 30 audits per network address in the same period.

Runs started from the sample documents count towards those limits like any other run. We may throttle, restrict or suspend use that is automated, excessive or designed to work around these controls, and we may change the limits.

4. The Smart Sifty platform

Accounts, credits and payments are not part of the free audit. They are provided by the Smart Sifty platform under its own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which govern your use of that platform. Nothing in these terms changes them.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service unlawfully, or upload documents you have no right to share.
  • Upload malware, or content that is unlawful, defamatory or infringes someone else’s rights.
  • Scrape, mine or otherwise extract data from the service by automated means.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the models behind the assessment.
  • Circumvent the fair-use, security or anti-abuse controls, or interfere with the availability of the service.
  • Resell or redistribute the service or its output without our written consent.

6. Data and privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how long we keep it, and forms part of these terms. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to share candidate data with us and for telling candidates how their data is used, as your own data-protection obligations require.

7. Intellectual property

7.1 Ours

The service, its assessment engine, its design and the AI Hiring Audit and Smart Sifty brands belong to CortxAI Ltd and are protected by intellectual property law. These terms grant you no rights in them beyond using the service as described here.

7.2 Yours

You keep ownership of every document you upload. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process those documents for the sole purpose of producing your assessment and operating the service.

8. AI output

  • The assessment is informational. It is not advice and it is not a hiring decision.
  • It may contain errors or omissions, and results can vary between runs and between documents.
  • Human review is required before you act on it; you remain responsible for every decision you take about a candidate.
  • We do not guarantee that the assessment will detect bias in another system, nor any particular hiring outcome.

9. Compliance

AI Hiring Audit is EU AI Act Aligned, and Smart Sifty is certified to ISO 27001 and ISO/IEC 42001 (AI Management Systems). That does not transfer your own obligations to us: you remain responsible for your hiring decisions and for meeting the equality, employment, data-protection and AI laws that apply where you operate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost data or lost opportunities arising from your use of the service.
  • Our total liability for any claim relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim. The free audit is provided at no charge, so that amount is nil.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud, and nothing affects the statutory rights of a consumer.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CortxAI Ltd, its officers, directors, employees and agents against any claim, liability, damage, loss or expense arising from your use of the service, your breach of these terms, or your infringement of anyone else's rights — including any claim about the documents you uploaded.

12. Suspension and termination

  • You may stop using the service at any time.
  • We may suspend or withdraw access if you breach these terms or if your use threatens the availability, security or integrity of the service.
  • On termination your right to use the service ends immediately. The sections that by their nature should survive — intellectual property, liability, indemnity and governing law — do survive.

13. Governing law

These terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
